Nohoval ( pronounced No-val)  is a small village on the south coast of Ireland. It is situated 15 miles south west of Cork City and 7miles east of Kinsale. The area is steeped in history and names such as Man of War Cove, Newfoundland Bay, and the Sovereigns evoke images of times past.
My home and workshop are located in the townland of Dunbogue, about a mile from Nohoval village.

The view looking west from Barry's Head, Dunbogue, on an unusually calm morning.  The bay in the foreground is Newfoundland Bay .  The two rocks are the Sovereigns and the headland in the distance is the Old Head of Kinsale.
